Book Launch : Oscar McLennan : Kiss of The Chicken King

Oscar McLennan, born and brought up in Glasgow, has lived in London, New York, Belfast, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Buenos Aires, Verona, Trento and is currently based in Dublin. As well as a writer and performer, throughout the length of his varied career, he has also worked as a singer (punk and traditional Irish/Scots), comedian, librarian, board marker in a bookies, fruit picker, video artist, visiting lecturer in art college, station foreman in London Transport, construction worker, singing telegram, English teacher, organiser of live art workshops and events, painter and decorator, dishwasher, barman and translator.

His last one man show, The Quiet Bastard, was commissioned by the UCLA International Theatre Festival. The book of the same name was published in Spanish, and he toured the show throughout Spain and South America, performing the monologue in Castellano. It is currently being translated into German, and will be appearing in English next year. The Kiss of the Chicken King will also be published in Spanish in 2011. His writing has appeared in various collections of short stories, literary magazines and broadcast on the radio in the UK and the USA.
