Lamont/Bailey/Wall

Lamont/Bailey/Wall is Ian Lamont (guitar and singing), James Bailey (bass guitar) and Patrick Wall (synthesizer, sampler and singing).

They perform urgent, hooky, funky pop music inspired by classic disco 12 inches, tightly programmed eighties hits, avant-garde composition, Mad Men, Ian MacDonald’s Revolution in the Head and bento boxes. They have a penchant for gigs in non-traditional venues and are equally at home quoting Marvin Gaye or Kraftwerk.

L/B/W have been a functioning entity since the Culture Night in September of 2010 when they were inspired by James Eatock’s perfect circle of burnt rubber in the Monster Truck Gallery in Temple Bar to begin building this nonchalant groove monster.

Following Ireland’s woeful Euro 2012 campaign, L/B/W brightened everyone’s summer with the release of their debut eponymous EP on 12” coloured vinyl with a sleeve designed by crack design gurus Conor & David. Earlier this year, the band released a digital remix EP featuring the contributions of talented friends who deconstructed and re-contextualized the four tracks of the EP.

The band is currently recording their first full-length record, preliminarily entitled BOOM! at a variety of locations around Dublin, with the aim of releasing it in the winter of 2013.

You can find the EP and its remix available to stream of download for free at http://www.lamontbaileywall.com

Conor Walsh

Conor is a minimalist piano and electro acoustic composer from County Mayo, Ireland.

He began composing as a teenager, writing short piano pieces on an old piano that sits in the reception room of a hundred year old hotel. Inspired by everyday life in the West of Ireland Conor’s work is dramatically stark yet soothing, melancholy yet hopeful. His compositions draw from a variety of genre’s that span traditional Irish to IDM and have been likened to the music of Hauschka, Aphex Twin and Philip Glass.

Conor has studied under composers Linda Buckley and Donnacha Dennehy at Trinity College Dublin. He has made notable appearances at a number of high-profile festivals such as HWCH and the Electric Picnic. Conor’s music has been featured in the feature length documentary ‘Apples of the Golan’, BBC Radio’s ‘Colum Sands’ show and on RTE Radio 1’s John Murray Show.
