The first of the Syncopathy series, the evening hosts sound performances from poylp, Safe and E||||, throughout the space.

poylp

poylp is primitive machine colony, networked throats by hyperflexed finger, hypnopompic mutterings of symbiotic flesh electric.

It aims to blur sound and movement. Through mutual improvisation of drones, it is focused on creating a reflexive interaction, not sound>movement or movement>sound but sound⇔movement.

The outbursts are structured improvisations, hung on images, moods, ideas and material sensation. Presented is fog between movement and sound.

Safe

Safe are Paul Hegarty and Brian O’Shaughnessy. Their performances encompass electronics, microphones, field recordings, metal, guitar, fx, samples, banging things. Pieces are entirely improvised, and span the range of sound from strange ambiances to overpowering noise. Harsh noise!

E||||

E|||| is the work of Cork city native Ellen King. She experiments with heavily manipulated samples, minimal beats and dark textures. She has been creating her own blend drone, noise and ambient music since 2010.
